If you have a family member on the Autism Spectrum, your child’s ARD/IEP committee must consider special strategies within the Autism Supplement. Unfortunately, many parents and school staff do not understand the function and implications of the supplement. This seminar will go into detail about the use of this supplement and better prepare participants to discuss the document.

Johnathon uses his humor and knowledge to help parents, teachers and other students understand his life with Asperger’s Syndrome. Johnathon shares how it feels to have Asperger’s Syndrome, the difficulties it brings, and what a school day can be like for him. Johnathon loves to answer questions from the audience to help them better understand him and his fellow students with Asperger’s Syndrome, and how to help them be more successful

This presentation will provide participants with information about services and supports offered across the state from the Burkhart Center for Autism Education and Research for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
